Honey Badger Rehabs

News broke a few weeks ago about the dismissal of star Cornerback Tyrann Mathieu from the LSU football team.  Mathieu was dismissed for failing yet another drug test.  From that point Mathieu considered transferring to Division 2 colleges (McNeese State, Alabama State), but was never really interested in leaving LSU.  He made it clear when he states that he hoped he could sit out at LSU for a year and stay on the team.  Coach Les Miles had no interest in keeping someone on the team who was a major distraction.  No matter what the talent, and who they were.  Because of this Tyrann Mathieu has entered a drug rehab center in Houston Texas.  This is a huge step in the life of the honey badger.  If he can make it through rehab and come out clean, I see no reason why LSU should prevent him from rejoining the football team.  Of course he must go through a set of procedures to prove that he has actually changed.  Mathieu still has 2 years of eligibility left and could be a great future piece for LSU.  Keep in mind, during points last season he was in consideration for the Heisman trophy.

The absence of Mathieu in 2012 makes every game a little bit more interesting.  The edge in the LSU Alabama game still goes to the Tigers, but only because it's at home and the Crimson Tide have no proven assets at the receiver position.  But Tyrann's absence makes that game all the more interesting.  Hopefully he can use this rehab to make a change in his life.  All of this is being done to help him learn a life lesson.  By taking away something he loves.  And me personally, I hope he can change and come out a better person from it.
